TERM DEFINITION(S)

Artifact

1. A tangible product or deliverable that is the result of an effort and that is often stored and used for future efforts.

Example: In the Information Technology (IT) industry, an artifact is often some form of a document, file or content construct (e.g. a Design Document, a Support Document or a Data File) that can be referenced and reused.
