TERM DEFINITION(S)

Build

1. The resulting quantifiable and measurable construct, structure, artifact or aggregation of Configuration Items that comes from a controlled and fully repeatable construction, implementation, manufacturing or development process.

2. The aggregate quantifiable and measurable set of activities that yield the constructs, structures, artifacts or Configurations that come from a controlled and fully repeatable construction, implementation, manufacturing or development process.

3. The quantifiable and measurable act of creating or building the constructs, structures, artifacts or Configurations related to an Asset such as Software, a System, or an Application.

NOTE: In the Information Technology (IT) industry, a build often refers to things such as Software Builds, Hardware Builds and Network Builds.
