TERM DEFINITION(S)

Crisis

1. An extremely severe Situation, Problem, or Incident, either generated by humans, by nature, or by systems, that has escalated to a level which is perceived as disastrous or catastrophic for an Enterprise and/or its stakeholders (e.g. Customers, Clients, and Consumers).

Examples include but are not limited to: Litigation or massive System failures that are perceived to damage Brand or threaten human safety; natural Disasters that shut down Businesses and which threaten to keep them down for extended periods of time; terrorist attacks; etc.
